The Alberta Glycomics Centre and The Canadian Glycomics Network (GlycoNet) will be hosting a seminar on Intellectual Property Protection by J. David Barrans, PhD., Patent Agent, Intellectual Property with Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP at the University of Alberta on Wednesday, August 26th.
The presentation titled “Patents: Maximizing the Value of your Intellectual Property” will begin at 10:00 am in Room 239 in the Central Academic Building (CAB). Seminar Notice
Patents are assets that can be valuable technical, strategic and/or marketing tools for protecting and promoting your intellectual property. This seminar provides the basics of the patent protection process, from drafting and filing to prosecution and beyond. Tips and pitfalls in the patenting process will be discussed. Questions and discussion from the audience will be encouraged. This seminar is intended for the patent novice and those who have general experience and interest in the patenting process.
